Brief

Cinven have been a long standing client for whom we provide both online internal and external communications.

With recent industry developments in mind, our focus was to restructure the site to achieve clear, effective and transparent communication whilst applying the new brand essence and considering technological advances. We took our knowledge of best practice for websites and implemented findings from the competitor research. The ultimate aim was to raise the level of communications within the industry and to position Cinven as industry leaders.

Strategy

Competitor research was undertaken benchmarking Cinven against its key competitor group, to understand where they were positioned in terms of online communications. This, coupled with an exhaustive information architecture exercise which addressed the findings of the research, allowed us to propose a complete re-presentation of the company’s content to maximise communication and make the site engaging, easy to navigate and accessible.

A clear and logical structure was applied to the site to convey a wide range of information relating to both the company and its portfolio companies. On page navigation tools were applied to content heavy sections to provide an “at a glance” view with access to a wealth of information on click through.

To further optimise communication and engage users we introduced various tools to the site including video and succinct information applets. A series of aids and links were also added across the site to guide visitors to related information.

A greater use of photography was applied throughout the site to visually convey the organisations experience with a large focus on its people and portfolio companies. The clear interface design applies the new brand pallet to delicately express a fresh but professional look & feel.

It was also first time both Cinven and its portfolio companies had to produce corporate reports. With the significance and importance of this in the industry, there was clearer signposting and access to the reports from key pages on the site including the homepage.

Success

The launch of the new site has brought a quick and overwhelmingly positive response. This was further supported by the sites analytics which demonstrated strong visitor numbers within the first week of launch.
