Brief
ApaTech is a world leader in orthobiologics through its development, production and sales of synthetic bone graft technology. In both 2007 and 2008, ApaTech was named Britain’s fastest growing medical technology company by The Sunday Times Fast Track 100.
In line with this expansion, ApaTech wanted to redesign its website to support its growing communication needs and to better reflect the company’s visions, values and ambitions – while also showcasing its unique products.
Strategy
Our aim was to convey ApaTech as a dynamic, global company and to position its products more effectively. It was also essential to improve the clarity of communication, given the need to provide detailed information to an audience ranging from patients to medical professionals and from investors to distributors.
Having reviewed ApaTech’s existing site and compared it to industry best practice, we conducted an information architecture exercise to ensure the content–rich site would deliver information clearly and logically. A bespoke content management system was built to enable ApaTech to keep the site up to date and to allow for further growth.
Clear navigation and consistent design elements – clean lines, strong brand imagery – were applied to give the website a fresh, modern look. Quick links and related links were introduced to help users find information, and rich media – such as video – was delivered quickly and smoothly.
Success
The new site better serves the needs of a very diverse audience through a logical content structure and clear navigation. The modern, user-friendly design and the use of rich media and strong imagery have made detailed scientific information more accessible – and have reinforced ApaTech’s industry-leading position.
